Credit Union

13th January 2015

We are in the process of setting up a credit union in school; this can be used by parents, children and staff. It is an excellent way to teach children the value of money and how to save.

To run the credit union successfully we need three or four volunteers to come into school one morning per week (around 8.30am) to process the savings. No experience is required as all training will be provided; all we ask is that you are reliable and committed to keeping the credit union running. At least two people need to be present each week. The reason we ask for three or four volunteers is so that if anyone is poorly another person can step in.

School have to sign a contract to keep the credit union running for at least one year so please only volunteer if you can commit.

Volunteers will each receive a pack with pens, pencils and calculator etc. and savings books will be provided.

Please contact Susan Lishman on 0191 2735293 or 07815968699 if you would like to volunteer, or if you would like more information.

As well as helping school it is an excellent opportunity to learn a new skill!
